DT: The Indian Embassy yesterday blacklisted a Bahraini construction firm after it repeatedly mistreated Indian employees. The firm, Juma Construction S.P.C., will not be allowed to recruit Indian workers, an embassy spokesperson told DT.
“It has mistreated our nationals various times despite the workers following all the rules and regulations as per Bahrain’s Labour Law. Withholding passports of workers is one of the ways they have troubled the employees,” the spokesperson said.
The embassy sent a warning letter to the firm demanding that it adhere to the laws of the Kingdom. The company did not respond to the letter.
The embassy reacted by blacklisting the construction company. Intimation of the same has also been sent to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and authorities concerned in India.
