AN Ethiopian housemaid acquitted of attempted murder has been ordered to receive psychiatric treatment.
The Supreme Criminal Appeals Court agreed with a previous ruling, which stated she was not guilty of the crime due to her mental state.
However, it said the 25-year-old needed to be treated due to her unstable condition.
The High Criminal Court previously acquitted her of trying to murder her female sponsor.

The maid reportedly crept into the 42-year-old Bahraini's bedroom at night in April 2009, armed with a knife and attacked her.
But the woman's son intervened when he heard her screams.
The defendant then locked herself in a bathroom in the family's house in Muharraq.
She was arrested after the woman, who suffered injuries to her face, called police.
The GDN earlier reported that the housemaid was seen brushing her hair with a toothbrush, carrying her flip-flops to court and shouting at a male police officer.
