GDN: MIGRANT Workers Protection Society (MWPS) members have elected Marietta Dias as its new chairwoman.
The election of the new executive committee for 2011 to 2013 took place at the society's annual general meeting at its offices in Adliya.
Other members are vice-chairwoman Noora Feleyfel, general-secretary Beverley Hamadeh, treasurer Percy Mistry and action committee head Liz Szalay.
Others include labour safety and welfare committee head Charanath Siva, shelter committee head Bina Shah, fundraising committee head Esky Dubois and assistant general secretary Lena Nazareth.
This is in addition to assistant treasurer Nazar Hassan, action committee assistant head Evone Bhaskaran and executive committee member Hana Buhijji.
"Members of the executive committee, together with all MWPS members, look forward to combining their hard work, experience and skills to meet the challenges which face them in their efforts to support expatriate workers in need," said Mr Dias.
