GDN:FIRE ripped through a labour camp in Nuwaidrat yesterday morning.
No one was injured but the blaze, which broke out at around 7am, completely destroying the one-storey building.
A van parked outside was also gutted.
Firemen managed to contain the fire before it spread to adjacent buildings.
The cause of the blaze is still being investigated and no information about the workers was available.
It is the second labour camp fire in two days.
The GDN reported yesterday that two wooden cabins allegedly illegally erected on the rooftop of a building in Naim were gutted by fire.
More than 20 illegal workers living at the labour camp reportedly fled before firemen arrived.
The blaze started in the early hours when one of them was cooking.
It prompted a call by area councillor Sadiq Rahma for action to be taken against unsafe accommodation.
Firemen also put out a fire near a scrapyard in Askar Saturday. It happened at around 8.30pm, although the cause is still unknown.
